Franklin Pierce College - a small, private, liberal arts college tucked away in the mountains in southwest New Hampshire. The campus is absolutely beautiful, as you can see. I learned alot there in my four years, and not just about academics. Franklin Pierce College is where I became a man. For anyone who has been through 4 years of college, you know exactly what I mean.

Franklin Pierce was our country's 14th president, the only one from the State of New Hampshire. If you research his presidency, you'll find that he was probably one of the worst presidents our country ever had. He was an alcoholic (fitting, I suppose), and came very close to suffering a mental breakdown following the accidental death of his wife and son. That notwithstanding, I chose Franklin Pierce because of the Mass Communication department, which is excellent. During my 4 years, I hosted a radio show and a TV show. The TV show was alot of fun; it was called "Ahmad on Sports", and each week, I would go on the air and basically talk about sports. Sometimes I had guests, sometimes I took phone calls, but I always flew by the seat of my pants. The only other big activity I did was intramural indoor soccer. I started a team freshman year called Absolut Us (the vodka ads were popular back then), and we won the league every year. In fact, out of 7 leagues we played in (including spring leagues), we won 6 championships. Admittedly, it's not the World Cup, but I was very proud of our record. One year, we even beat a team comprised of red-shirt freshmen from the Franklin Pierce College team.

Like anyone, I sometimes wish I could do college over again. I'd do a better job of focusing on a career after I graduated (so I wouldn't end up in the Army!), but you don't think about these things while you're there. You're too busy just trying to pick up women, find the best parties, and figure out what to eat with your Ramen - all while trying to maintain a decent GPA.

But, all in all, college really was a challenging and enriching experience. And it was a lot of fun too. I'm sure you're probably waiting for some crazy college stories - and believe me, I do have some doozies - but most of them are not appropriate for a public place such as this website I'm afraid...

Here are a couple pictures of the Franklin Pierce College campus...

The mountain in the background is the famous Mt. Monadnock, the most climbed mountain in the world. That's right, more people climb Mt. Monadnock than any other mountain in the world. For years, Mt Fuji held that honor, but some years back, they built an autoroad to the top of Mt Fuji. Now, more people are starting to just drive to the top, clearing the way for Mt. Monadnock to stake its claim. My stats may be outdated by now of course, but even if they are, I'm sure Monadnock is still in the top three, so throw me a frickin' bone here...

The big claim to fame for FPC over the last few years has been the women's soccer team. They play in NCAA Div. II, and they've won the national championship a bunch of times in the 90's, and they're in the hunt every year.
