I've always thought that Nurnberg is one of the more underrated cities in Europe. There's alot of history there, and not all of it is from WWII. The Altstadt (old town) is beautiful, and the perfect size to explore on foot, and there seems to be a church or sculpture around every corner. Art fans will recognize Nurnberg as the home of Albrecht Durer, one of Germany's few, true Renaissance men. It's also home to one of Germany's most famous Christmas markets. Oh, and there's also a great pub, the Irish Castle Pub, there as well.
